Erik Johansson

Erik Johansson is a photographer and retoucher born in 1985 in Sweden, now based in Berlin, Germany. Johansson says, "I use photography as a way of collecting material to realize the ideas in my mind." Johansson collects materials to not capture moments, but ideas. One of his photos can consist of hundreds of images. Johansson says growing up on the Swedish countryside has a big impact on his visual style, since many of the environments in his photos are captured near places he grew up. I enjoy the imagination in Johansson's photographs and how complex they are. His photographs give me ideas and inspiration for altering images digitally.
